Mr. Shammas Basheer is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Applications at Al-Azhar College of Arts & Science. He completed his MCA from Ilahia College of Engineering and Technology, Muvattupuzha in 2015 under Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam. An alumnus of Al-Azhar College of Arts & Science, he graduated in B.Sc. Computer Science in 2012.
After completing his MCA, he began his professional career as a Software Engineer at DhiLogics Software Solutions India Pvt. Ltd., Cochin. Driven by a passion for teaching, he transitioned into academia on 2nd November 2016. Since 2017, he has been serving as the Programme Advisor of the National Service Scheme (NSS).
He has also taken up various leadership roles, serving as the Head of the Department of Computer Applications from 2024 to 2025. In June 2025, he was appointed as the Vice Principal of the institution.
